Location Kicheche is located on the Aitong plains in the northern Koiyaki Lemek region of the famous Masai Mara reserve. The camp is hidden in a grove of wild olive and croton trees in a prime wildlife area. Game viewing starts right from the camp itself. |

Bush Camp Kicheche Tented: Six spacious, fully insect-proof custom designed tents, equipped with twin or double beds, linen, bedside tables, luggage racks and rugs. Bathrooms are en-suite and are equipped with a dresser, flushing toilet and a traditional safari bucket shower with a view. There are comfortable chairs on each verandah overlooking the plains. One tent can be converted into a triple on request. There is a spacious well furnished lounge and dining tent, although we prefer to each alfresco if weather permits.
Game DrivesEarly morning and late afternoon are the most productive hours for game drives and our safari customised 4WD vehicles give everyone a perfect view. Watching wildlife at close range, but without encroaching on their space, is endlessly fascinating and our guides' instincts and experience provide superb photo opportunities of wild animals. Our vehicles are superbly designed for photographers, all our fleet is open-sided with open roofs. Cameras can be rested on the roof, with supplied beanbags, or on the armrests lower down, to which we can mount simple platforms for larger lenses. A different perspective is gained through escorted walks on the savannah. Our interpretive guides will point out the spoor of a leopard, the nest of a rare bird or signs of recent migration activity that would pass unnoticed by the eyes of strangers...
Kicheche Tented Camp (Mara Camp):
The camp prides itself on offering a friendly and relaxing stay, with our hosts treating you as welcome guests, not mere travel statistics. To maintain this intimate and relaxed atmosphere there is a maximum of twenty two guests at any time. Each tent is comfortably furnished with an en-suite bathroom and flushing toilet, low wattage lighting is supplied 24 hours. The majority of the tents are in secluded positions overlooking the plains and nearby hills, while others are closer together for families or friends. Triple and Quad tents (1 double & 2 single beds) are also available. The spacious Nyati tent acts as the camp lounge with comfortable seating, a library, board games, cards and local crafts.

Kicheche Tented Camp ( Laikipia Camp): The camp will consist of six luxurious tents The tents are custom designed and are fully insect-proof with en-suite bathrooms equipped with a dresser, flushing toilet and hot showers. There are comfortable chairs on each verandah overlooking the plains. One tent can be converted into a triple on request. There is a spacious well furnished lounge and dining tent, although we prefer to eat alfresco if weather permits. Activities: We offer a full selection of game-viewing activities including Day Game Drives, Night Game Drives which focus on nocturnal species not seen on regular day drives. Interpretative Game Walks are another activity permitted on the Conservancy. Our safari customised 4WD vehicles are designed to give everyone a perfect view. Research & Education CentreWildlife Educational Centre which is very interesting for children and adults alike. One can take a short walk to see Morani, the habituated rhino, nearby. Lion TrackingThe Lion Tracking program monitors the Conservancy lions (some have been collared with receivers). As part of the program we are able to track the lions with a portable satellite dish and remit the data to the study centre.

Chimpanzee VisitThe Ol Pejeta Chimpanzee Sanctuary was set up for orphaned chimps rescued from West Africa. The Sanctuary is an excellent venue to observe the two families and learn about the perils facing chimpanzees in the wild. We offer private visits to the Sanctuary outside the normal visiting hours. Horse RidingWe are planning to introduce horse riding excursions on the Conservancy and will update you when these come online. Kicheche Tented Camp ( Private Camp):
TentsThe fully insect-proof Manyara-style twin tents are laid out under the trees. Bathrooms are en-suite and are equipped with a dresser, bucket shower and flushing toilet, whilst lighting is provided by our solar invertor system. Hammocks are slung between nearby trees and the spacious lounge tent offers another place to relax with comfortable seating, a library and board games.
CuisineOur cooks produce delicious and healthy meals, and the menu features a wide range of dishes. Fresh produce is brought in regularly and bread and pastries are baked daily. Meals are taken al-fresco whenever possible or when the weather is inclement, in the lounge tent . Game DrivesGame driving starts from the camp itself as we are located in an excellent wildlife area. The surrounding plains hold a myriad of wildlife and stunning scenery. The areas you visit and your game drive program will be determined by your guide as your transport is provided by your tour operator.
