The Imani Dhow:
Severin Sea Lodge would like to welcome you on board of one of the finest restaurants in Mombasa! The Imani Dhow is a sailing boat built over thirty years ago - a so called »Zanzibar Jahazi«. In former times it was used for trading between Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Tangiers and Mombasa. The dhow was mainly laden with different goods such as mangrove wood, cotton and corn on the cob. The sailing boat weights about 90 tons and has room on board for a crew of 16. »Imani« means trust. Severin Sea Lodge are very proud that Severin Sea Lodge has become its last port of call. Local workmen have converted it into a restaurant for fish and sea water delicacies.
